Monday Morning Aural Sex: 2019-08-05 (Boredom is Indefensible Edition)
Monday Aug 05, 2019
Monday Aug 05, 2019
That’s right, assholes and assholettes: Boredom is fucking Indefensible. By the way, welcome to the edition so named. Might I add, pretty much anytime you see me putting out an edition with a relatively ambiguous title like Shuffle’n’Chill, Curiosity is Fucktacular, etcetera et-fucking-cetera, it’s basically just all over the place in regards to genres. The only difference between my old Miscellaneous Fucktacularity and Random as Fuck editions is that a good portion of that stuff was tracks I already knew about. These 2019 editions have been almost all completely new stuff. See, I could easily just dig through my music collection and put together these podcasts as I have before, and likely will continue to, but I have so much time to find new stuff while I’m out driving for Lyft.
Considering the generally tedious nature of driving the same old highways over and over again, I take it upon myself to explore the unimaginably vast libraries of the numerous streaming services we all have available to us. Hintity-fucking-hint-hint. That brings me back to the title of this edition: Boredom is Indefensible. It has pretty much always been indefensible so long as you have at least a moderately functional imagination. Even if you were stranded at some insurance seminar, even if you were waiting at the doctor’s or dentist’s office for your appointment, even if you were traipsing aimlessly through a fucking desert, boredom is still goddamn indefensible.
In this day and age, when an extremely large portion of the population is walking around with tiny computers in their pockets, computers that have near instantaneous access to a staggering, overwhelming amount of information, boredom is indefensible. What kind of bland, passionless, pathetic sack of shit actually allows themselves to get bored anymore? Seriously, how is it even fucking possible to be bored? I don’t fucking get it. I understand being welded to your comfort zone. I don’t respect it, and I encourage the living fuck out of you to venture outside of it, but I do understand it. But holiest of holy fucks, don’t be fucking bored.
Anyway, I think I’ve made myself clear. Before we yojne, we have a brief message from the UnaBooBoo.
And now… YOOOOOOJJJJJNEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

Monday Morning Aural Sex: 2019-07-29 (Rap vs. Hip-Hop Collection Edition)
Monday Jul 29, 2019
Monday Jul 29, 2019
What’s up, muthafuckaaaas?! Welcome once again to another Monday Morning Aural Sex! This week is a collection of tracks from past Rap vs. Hip-Hop editions, and there are a few newer tracks sprinkled in. I decided to make this because my Rap vs. Hip-Hop editions have been some of my consistently favorite podcasts to make and to listen to after the fact, and this is meant to be a bit of a retrospective to help further appreciate the journey going forward. I forget if I ever mentioned it in past editions, but I’ve loved rap and hip-hop ever since the early 90s, but I was told from my peers that my listening to rap was weird.
You know how it goes. When you’re young, you tend to listen to your peers. You give their opinions credence ‘cause you’re all trying to figure out the often terrifying world around you while you’re living in it. Anyway, yeah, because I also listened to Metallica, it was weird for me to listen to Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, etc. I branched off in the direction of metal and rock for a year or so before I realized my peers were full of shit, and ICP drew me back in to the rap/hip-hop genre. Amusingly enough, Eminem blew open the gate even wider a few years later when I heard Kim for the first time. For those unaware, ICP and Eminem were beefing for quite a while, but I enjoyed them both regardless.
So yeah, I’m looking forward to deepening my appreciation for both rap and hip-hop, and continuing to blur the boundaries between the two. I think this podcast does an excellent job of that, but fuck me and my opinions. To yojne, or not to yojne: that is the question. Personally, I’m gonna yojne my cock off backwards so you can eat the Cinnamon Toast Crunch out my sweaty ass crack, bitch! You should do the same!

Ha, a-ha, and a ha-ha-muthafuckin’ ha, muthafuckas! Clemeow (which is an anagram for “welcome,” for those paying some sort of attention) to the third installment of the Laughter is an Instant Vacation Edition of Monday Morning goddamn muthafuckin’ Aural Sex! Can you goddamn believe it’s been over 5 years since I made an all-comedy podcast? Funny, maybe I didn’t feel like laughing all that much ‘cause I was mired in crippling depression stemming from a laundry list of failures that made even entertaining the notion of a brighter future than death fucking laughable! HAHAHAHA! See what I did there? I made a shit-sandwich of a sentence between the words, “funny,” and, “laughable,” because this is a comedy edition!
For real though, I think we need to be checking up on stand-up comics more regularly. I know from experience how people sometimes use humor to mask some deep, deep darkness, and we all don’t need to look much farther than Richard Jeni and Robin Williams to see how comedians can excel at that particular coping mechanism. I know a lot fewer of you have any idea who Richard Jeni is, but he was one of my parents’ and my favorite comedians for many years. Any-fuckin’-way, let’s get to the fuckin’ comedy already, shall we?
But first, before we yojne, make sure to catch this news story later, especially considering it’s summertime. It might just save your life.

Monday Morning Aural Sex: 2019-07-08 (Through Niflheim to Valhalla Edition)
Monday Jul 08, 2019
Monday Jul 08, 2019
To Valhalla, motherfuckers! Welcome, welcome, wel-fucking-come to the Through Niflheim to Valhalla Edition! This is basically a concept podcast, and I mean that quite literally. I still have lots to learn about Norse mythology, but what I have learned has been intensely fascinating. So, the beginning and end relate to the title in some way or another, and everything between is pretty much just disjointed chaos as far as the organization goes. I probably could have organized it better if I went and looked up every single track and how they relate to each other, but frankly, I just didn’t have that kind of time on my hands over the past week.
Plus, I’m pretty sure some of these tracks stray from Norse mythology altogether. Bottom line is that I absolutely love the video game, “Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice,” and the group, “Heilung,” and I wanted to expand my knowledge in those general directions. So, if you have some constructive suggestion(s) how I could’ve organized this playlist a little better, let me know. I’d actually love to hear feedback like that, especially since I’m pretty sure nobody gave even a fraction of a fuck or a shit about last week’s Rave Review Retrospective. I was expecting that, though. I barely had it in me to give a fuck about an all show tune podcast, but it actually came out pretty awesome. Considering I spent at least 15-20 goddamn hours skimming through tracks, recording, assembling, yadda-yadda-ing, I’d fuckin’ damn well hope so.
Aaaaany-fuckin’-way, let us commence ze holy quest of yojne!

Monday Morning Aural Sex: 2019-07-01 (Rave Review Retrospective Edition)
Monday Jul 01, 2019
Monday Jul 01, 2019
The show must go ooooooon, muthafuckaaaaas! Welcomemoclew to another enthralling, nipple-calcifying edition of Monday Morning Aural fuckin’ Sex! This week, I have kept the promise I made last week, and I thus deliver to you and your eager, throbbing ear sphincters: the Rave Review Retrospective Edition! What in the upside-down-quadratic fuck is that supposed to mean? Let’s discuss…
*ahem*
My father started a freelance audio/video production company called Rave Review Productions sometime in the early-to-mid 90s, and even at the tender age of 11-years-old, I was helping him out with technical work such as camera operation, PA setup, mixing board operation, et-fuckin’-cetera. Know what that means? Yeah, I’ve been at this shit for 23 years on and off. Couldn’t do much for the business when I was in college and all, but I pretty much took over when I returned to Jersey in 2012, and then fully took over when my dad passed in early 2014.
Lemme tell ya, perverts and pervettes, the past few decades have been filled with all sorts of adversity in regards to my age and appearance. I happen to believe (and seemingly quite logically, I might add) that neither age nor appearance can determine anyone’s technical ability. Regardless, I heard about all sorts of people saying things like, “How can a kid actually operate a camera (or mixing console)? He’s bound to screw it up!”
When I got older, and started exploring alternative styles of clothing and body modification, I was forever being told to censor myself for the sake of professionalism. Can anyone fucking explain to me how my style of dress, the color of my hair, the piercings in my ears, lips, nose, etc. have any fucking effect on my ability to do a good job? It’d be one thing if I looked dirty, or another if I smelled bad, which I’m assuming have never been issues. I consider myself pretty fucking good at what I do, and I’ve been told as much plenty of times. It’s one aspect of my life about which I can afford to be immodest. Not to say I know everything, of course.
I’m always learning, but my aesthetic no more determines my professionalism than Cheeto fucking Shitler’s capacity to construct even a marginally coherent fucking sentence determines his ability to (somehow) be elected Resident. *sigh* Anyway, I digress. I have competently run this business for 5 years in the wake of my father’s passing, but the clients fell away one after another, and just a few months ago, our business van’s brakes went absolutely kaput. Actually happened while I was in it, and on a downward slope. Fun story. Had to steer into oncoming traffic and dodge two vehicles, pass through a 5-way intersection (somehow) with no other traffic passing through, and settled on an adjacent upward slope so that I could park and wait for a tow. Only found out later that the goddamn registration was expired, so I probably would’ve faced some serious legal bullshit had I actually hit anyone or anything.
So yeah, the repairs were estimated at something like $2500-3000, and that’s more money than Rave Review will even make this year, sooooo fuck that. To be perfectly honest, while I’m a little melancholic about the whole thing, seeing as it’s the end of an era, I’m mostly relieved. Doing work for Rave Review was often rather physically and psychologically demanding. I found myself fighting crippling anxiety months before show dates, simply because I didn’t want to cart all the goddamn heavy shit around, set it up, run the show and/or rehearsals, tear it down and then toss it all back in storage. Never even mind all the fucking bullshit troubleshooting I had to do before (and during) shows. Never even mind how the FCC was pulling our livelihood out from under us by selling off frequency bandwidth in the same range as our wireless lavalier microphones.
Those lavaliers were basically our foundation. See, we mostly did theatrical productions which relied on body microphones called lavaliers, and when the FCC sold off those frequency bands, it essentially became pointless (not to mention illegal) to use microphones that operated within certain frequency ranges. Pointless because of the damn near inevitable interference we would get (pops, clicks, loud static feedback, etc.), and illegal because the bandwidths were sold to emergency services like law enforcement, firefighters, you know. To further elaborate, the older Sennheiser G2 models, a good portion of our arsenal were only operational between 700-750 MHz. Those microphones became useless back in 2012-2013. Only just last year, they did the same thing for the 600-650 MHz range, but this time they sold them to television networks for some reason. What all that means is that we went from having 40 something operational microphones to having maybe about 12. If there is a way to reprogram them to different frequency bands, I’m completely unaware of it, and I’m almost 100% sure it’s impossible. Either that, or it would require a great deal of disassembly, unsoldering, resoldering, reassembly, etc. I don’t have the fucking patience for that trash, nor do I have the clients to make it worthwhile anymore. We’ve also not made anywhere near the amount of money it’d require to just buy new microphones within the 500 MHz range.
Before anyone starts wondering, no, I didn’t lose all the clients because of that. I’m pretty sure only one opted to hire someone else because of that, and going from three clients to two was pretty much whatever. Not like that one extra client would’ve saved the business, but I’m pretty sure my dad’s clients just didn’t want to work with me for whatever fucking reason(s). Not even like I wanted the damn business to be saved, though. I told my dad even as far back as my mid-teens that I had no intention of making Rave Review into my career.
Even back in the late 90s, we had done so many utterly horrendous productions (children’s productions, I might add) that my sanity could scarcely withstand the idea of enduring a lifetime of shit like that. That’s one of the big reasons why I went to college for audio engineering, by the way. I knew that I loved the technical aspects of audio, not to mention the creative aspects, but I wanted a job where I didn’t have to schlep around all my fucking gear. Maybe that seems lazy to some of you, maybe it is, but my dad developed a number of health issues because of all his years doing shit like that. I don’t want to go down that same road.
So anyway, yeah, this fucking podcast. This is comprised of 4 and a half hours of music that I actually rather enjoyed throughout my two decades of providing sound for musical theater. A lot of it comes from productions we did with a theater group called The Garage, whose founder (Michael Bias) is a longtime family friend. Michael and my dad got along rather well for at least 20 some odd years, and probably largely due to the fact that they were both ex-hippies. Or maybe hippies in disguise. Or maybe not disguise so much as… evolved? I don’t fuckin’ know. I do know that The Garage productions were actually quite good, especially as opposed to the slew of garbage we did all over northern NJ. In case you might be wondering about the inclusion of songs by The Who and The Beatles, The Garage actually did productions of Tommy and Sgt. Pepper.
In fact, 8 out of the 26 different musicals from whose soundtracks I compiled this podcast were done by The Garage, and I even had small roles in their productions of Little Shop and Wizard of Oz when I was like 5 or 6 years old. Coincidentally, I was a small person with small roles, including being part of the Lollipop Guild: one of the groups of Munchkins who welcomed Dorothy to Oz. Yo, it took me for-fuckin’-ever to eat that goddamn lollipop after the show had long since wrapped up. No idea why, but there ya go. Random facts about yours fuckin’ truly.
Speaking of which, I actually did a bit of acting myself, although it wasn’t with The Garage. One of the most hilarious roles was Lank from Crazy For You. My mom directed it, and because it was a middle-school production, we were all horny little bastards. We drove her crazy (haha, see what I did there?) missing our cues, talking backstage, etc. Anyway, plenty of stories about that experience, but I also played Charles Dickens in two different productions of A Christmas Carol, I played Schroeder in You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown, and I played the Prince in Romeo & Juliet.
Anyway, moving on, I should mention that there are a number of shows that I flat out vetoed because I cannot fucking stand them anymore. I can’t stand watching them, doing sound for them, hearing music from them, fucking anything. Annie comes to mind immediately, but others include Grease, Fiddler on the Roof, The Sound of Music, High School Musical, Hairspray, Godspell, Little Mermaid, Frozen, and the list goes on and fuckin’ on. I actually tried sifting through the soundtracks of Grease and Sound of Music thinking I might have missed something worth including, and no. Really just done with all that crap.
Aside from that, I want to mention that my dad played Captain Hook in Peter Pan, which is why I included only the pirate songs from that show. I should ALSO fuckin’ mention that some of these songs come from movie soundtracks either because I couldn’t (or didn’t care to) find Broadway versions on Spotify, or I just preferred the movie soundtrack versions. AL-FUCKING-SO, that Julie London track, “Bidin’ My Time,” is (as far as I fuckin’ know) originally from Crazy For You, but I prefer her version. The Manson track is only there because of its usage of the dialogue from Willy Wonka, and I did a little somethin’ special with all that. You’ll have to listen and hear it for your damn selves.
Jesus fuckin’ jumping jack jizz in a gym sock Christ, this intro is becoming a goddamn novel. So, let me wrap this up and say that I have a ton of anecdotes to go along with these tracks. If by some wild fucking out-of-this-universe chance you’re actually curious to hear any of those, let me know and I’ll be happy to share.
Aaaaaand, with that, we now commence ze yojne!

Monday Morning Aural Sex: 2019-06-24 (Shuffle'n'Chill Edition)
Monday Jun 24, 2019
Monday Jun 24, 2019
Shuffle’n’Chill, muthafuckaaaa! Can ya fuckin’ guess how this one’s gonna go down?! I’m getting ahead of myself now. See that? That’s what I do sometimes. Sometimes I have to talk over my damn self just to welcome you to this fuckin’ podcast. Hope you goddamn appreciate how bananas that is.
Welcomemoclew perverts, pervettes and miscellaneous gray-ass, fence-sittin’, flip-floppin’ moderate motherfuckers in between, to the Shuffle’n’Chill Edition of Monday Morning Aural Sex! This is basically just some random picks from my Recent Likes playlist on Spotify. A few tracks are making a comeback from previous editions ‘cause they’re just that fuckin’ cool. I won’t tell you which ones, though. That’s for the alien scholars to decipher long after we’re all gone and buried and dead and all. that. jazz.
Let me just take a moment here to publicly shame myself for not having played the Romantic Edition of Little Big’s, “Skibidi,” yet. That video is fucking phenomenal, and you all should look it up. That is, if you enjoy laughter, being amused, you know. If you’re an utterly miserable little bitch, don’t bother. I’m sure you’ve got plenty of your own jams to keep you company in this cold and lonely fuckin’ world.
Anyway, yeah, this edition came about pretty fuckin’ last minute. See, the edition I’d originally planned was a retrospective tribute to the business that I’ve co-owned with my mother since 2014 when my father passed. For those not in the know, I’m an actual, highly-trained and experienced audio engineer; not just a podcaster/DJ/fuckingwhatever. The business was mostly providing audio services to various theater companies around northern NJ. Most of the theater we did was children’s theater, but we had some incredible adult productions as well.
One thing or another, I’ll jaw on and on about that next week. The bottom line is that because we’ve done so many goddamn musicals, I simply didn’t have enough time to go through all the soundtracks for these shows and put together a good playlist. So, I made a fuckin’ executive decision to postpone that shit ’til next week. I have absolutely zero doubt in my mind that the majority of everyone will skip that one since musical theater isn’t particularly popular at-fuckin’-all. At least, that’s the impression I’ve gotten over the past 2 decades. Maybe I’m wrong, I don’t know.
Anyway, yeah, this one is made up of a bunch of tracks I discovered simply by utilizing the handy little Shuffle feature in Spotify. Shuffle playlists, shuffle artist libraries, shuffle fuckin’ anything I can, because that’s how I (and you, so, “we,” I suppose) discover new shit. You know, like expand our fuckin’ horizons and want not, in an effort to not simply drift through mediocre lives filled with routine so predictable that you can feel time literally eating your soul away second by fucking second?
Why would you not live your life inhaling curiosity and exhaling fuckin’ passion? Why wouldn’t you drive yourself to new ideas, new experiences and adventures (which are experiences themselves, which is redundant, but fuck you if you don’t like it)? Don’t know if you’ve looked around lately, but there’s a fuckin’ universe around us to explore. We’ve got lots and lots of fuckin’ work to do around here, lots to learn around every corner, and you don’t want to reach the end regrettin’ all the fuckin’ time you pissed away runnin’ on your respective goddamn hamster wheels. We might be condemned like Sisyphus to keep rollin’ the fuckin’ boulder up the same fuckin’ hill every goddamn minute of every day, but we can embrace the absurdity of life and create boundless beauty in our minds as the ultimate fuck you to our mistakenly divine fuckin’ masters.
Yeah, expand your fuckin’ heads, bitches.
Oh yeah, and yojne too.

Monday Morning Aural Sex: 2019-06-17 (Liquid Makes Me Wet Edition Vol. 2)
Monday Jun 17, 2019
Monday Jun 17, 2019
“Mmmm, liquid makes me wet.”
Well, thank you for that lovely bit of information, dearest friend Constance! Many thanks, by the way, for helping me introduce dis’ lil’ podcast rightcheya! Yes, perverts, it is I! I being your gloriously batshit host/podcaster/fucking idiot, Double-O! This week, we have the second installment of the Liquid Makes Me Wet Edition! This one contains only one of the tracks from the previous installment, and it contains that one because, wow, the sub-genre liquid can actually be pretty emotional if you dig deep enough. Got me feelin’ the feels over here, an’ shit. Specifically, the beginning and end, but there’s feeltastic tracks peppered throughout.
Also, I ought to mention that I attempted as best I could to mix this harmonically using my Mixed In Key software. Unfortunately, due to the way in which I compile these tracks, some of the tracks are in keys that don’t match any of the other tracks, so there’ll be a few inharmonic departures. Regardless, these are all fuckin’ phenomenal tracks, and I can say that with confidence because before I settled on these 42, I listened to at least 150 or so. For your information, I do that sort of thing just about every week. I’ve done that for just about every fuckin’ edition. These are the best of the best, in my humble fuckin’ opinion.
So, with that in mind, yojne your muthafuckin’ genitals off, muthafuckaaaaaas!!!!!

Monday Morning Aural Sex: 2019-06-10 (Witch-rowave Trap-House Edition)
Monday Jun 10, 2019
Monday Jun 10, 2019
oooOOOooOoOOOoOooOoooo!!!! Hallo, dearest perverts! WelcomemocleW to yet another installment of Monday Morning Aural muthafuckin’, giraffin’, pumpkin’n, toothpastin’ Sex! This week, we have the Witch-rowave Trap-House Edition, as you may have already fuckin’ guessed by the logo, the title of the post, or maybe you had a fuckin’ carrier fox deliver the fuckin’ message. I don’t goddamn know what chicanery you’re up to over there. Any-fuckin’-way, I’m sure you’re all just DYING for me to tell you why this edition is named thusly. Well, there’s a genre of music called Witch House… Don’t fuckin’ ask me, ‘cause I have no goddamn idea why.
There’s also Witch Trap, there’s Retrowave, Futurewave, Synthwave, Fuckyourgrandpaintheasswithasandpaperfrogfisteddildowave, and Outrun. For the sake of some semblance of brevity, and due to the fact that the second one from the end on that list was one I just fuckin’ made up (*shock* *gasp*, I know, right? I’m just so fuckin’ clever), I decided to only use Retrowave in my orgiastic portmanteau name for this edition.
Couple things:
1. I first heard about Witch House because someone said the group †††(Crosses) was of that genre. After listening to a lot of other Witch House for this podcast, I’m not so sure about that assessment, but I’m including tracks of theirs anyway because Chino’s the fuckin’ shit, and y’all betta wreck-o-nize.
2. †††(Crosses) has a song called ††† on their album (also called †††), and my car stereo display can’t read that character for whatever reason, so all the fields are blank whenever I play that song. This amuses me because I’m a giant dork. Fuck you if you’re not also amused. I didn’t ask you anyway. My stereo display also can’t read Japanese characters, and it’ll probably have issues with the Russian characters in that IC3PEAK song as well. There, more information you didn’t need to know, but which amuses me. Your time, your life is miiiiiiiinnnneeee!!! Mwahahahahah!!! And also…
3. I’ve heard that Power Glove song, “Boss Fight,” more times than I care to remember because it played during one of the most god-awfully difficult levels of Trials of the Blood Dragon, but I passed that shit after a few hours of practice. Like whuuuuut?! Anyway, yeah, got a little nostalgic for that one.
4. How fuckin’ awesome is that picture I used for this edition, hmm? I just typed “Neon Witch,” into Google images, and I found a treasure trove. You’ll have to forgive me as I butcher the absolute fuck out of these names, but the photographer is a guy named Sergey “Aku” Shetukhin, and the model’s name is Alena German. They’re both on Instagram @akunohako & @redfox0666_, respectively. Check them the fuck out, support them, do whatever you can do, because talent deserves support, goddammit.
One final thing before we commenzzzzz ze hol-eeeest of hol-eeee yojneeeees, I don’t think the birds heard my message to them last week, because they’re still out there chirping the fuck away just like they were last week. So, let’s try this again…

Monday Morning Aural Sex: 2019-06-03 (Mershed Perderders Edition)
Monday Jun 03, 2019
Monday Jun 03, 2019
Allo out der, all you fresh-nippled maniacs! Good milk from the dirt backwards into outer space! Welcomemoclew to the Mershed Perderders Edition! I’m a little surprised that I haven’t done an edition like this yet, but this one is aaaalllll mash-ups… with the exception of like, 3 tracks or something. To be frank, I’m not biblically conversant on the mash-up and/or turntablist genre/style/what-the-fuck-ever, but I’ve definitely enjoyed a great number of tracks over the years. You’ll notice that a LOT of the tracks come from the Mash-Up Your Bootz Party compilations and/or DJ Hero soundtracks, and you’ll also see the name Wax Audio fairly frequently, and that’s because that’s basically the extent of my knowledge of this whole thing. If/When I decide to delve deeper into this particular realm, I may make another installment of this kind of edition. Even though I had to sift through a LOT of shtinky dew-dew to find these tracks, I believe the journey was worth the effort. Some of these tracks are especially especiál to me, and some are included purely for humor. Any-goddamn-motherfuckin’-son-of-a-shit-bitch-cunt-nun-Jesus-jizzmopping-way, before we yojne, I have a quick lil’ message to play for all the fucking asshole piece of shit birds in my fucking neighborhood.

Hallo, perverts, my dearest! It is I, Xtian “Double-O” Silver, back with another delicious fuckin’ edition of Monday Morning Aural Sex! This week, we have the Curiosity Is Fucktacular Edition. Why?
Exactly.
Also, because curiosity is what drives podcasts like this forward! You perverts truly have no idea the amount of effort I put into this. I sometimes surprise myself with the amounts of caffeine I ingest just to make my brain kind of work for long enough to put this shit together, especially when I’m exhausted like I currently am. I’m not looking for accolades or a fucking medal for this; I’m simply illustrating a point. It’s astonishing even to me the lengths to which I go sometimes, and my Fuck, I hope you perverts push your own boundaries similarly in some way(s), shape(s) or another(s).
Do you have any fuckin’ idea how much cool shit there is out there to discover and explore? It’s goddamn mind-boggling, and no human being could ever live long enough to experience it all. It’s beyond me, beyond words that anyone could find themselves bored these days.
Additionally, I named this podcast edition in reference to an article I read recently about how people tend to stop looking for new music after they hit their early 30s. My fucking Fuck, I can’t even wrap my mind around that imbecilic nonsense. WHYYYYY?!!! WHY IN THE HOLIEST NAME OF ALL FUCK WOULD YOU ALLOW YOUR CURIOSITY TO JUST WITHER AND DIE LIKE THAT?!
Then again, I’m all too aware of how depression and various other mental illnesses can wreak havoc on such things. I really hope that’s not the case. Kinda funny & sad in equal measure how I’m hoping it’s just laziness instead of depression that causes people to get stuck in a musical curiosity rut for the majority of their lives.
Dear Fuck, perverts, please don’t let that happen to you. It’s so easy to take safe, little fuckin’ vacations from your comfort zone in order to discover new shit, not just in music. To further illustrate my point, this edition was made up from tracks new and old, from my personal playlists and ones I found on Spotify, from long-time YouTube favorites, recent random releases and discoveries, music game and TV soundtracks, and the first 6 tracks are actually ones I neglected to add to last week’s Veronica Tarlitz edition. I have so many different avenues through which I discover new music (obviously because I’m insane), and you have all the same avenues available to you. All you need is to care enough to explore them.
Truly, I fucking cherish the memories I have of getting into in-depth discussions about music, and I wish I could make more of them more often. I don’t know, perverts. I feel like even more of a freak than I usually do when I think about how passionate I often am with music, video games, etc., and I don’t ever mean to intimidate anyone with all this shit. (If that sounds odd, cool. It sounds odd to me, too. I’ve been told I’m intimidating, and… I’m not altogether sure why, but eh. I could think of some plausible reasons, but they all suck.)
In the end, bottom line, finally as we near a point where music is actually played on this fucking music podcast, all I want to do is inspire people. I want to have a positive effect on people, as hippie-ish as that might fuckin’ sound. I want people to go further with their curiosity, with their passions, assuming of course they don’t hurt anyone else but Nazis or something. After all, that’s what the whole .?. is about: omitted questions. Things we think about, but don’t fuckin’ ask for whatever reason.
As far as any of us know, we’ve only got this one life to live, so we should do whatever possible to make it a really fuckin’ cool one. Anyway, yeah, end rant.
Yojne!
