1,001 Albums: Albums 0023: Slayer - God Hates Us All / Dave Brubeck - Time Out

Quite a pair we’ve got today:  Slayer’s “God Hates Us All,” and Dave Brubeck’s “Time Out.”  One’s intense thrash metal, the other’s jazz.  Kind of tame jazz at that.  I wouldn’t be surprised if albums like this were what led to whatever it is that Kenny G does.  You know what I’m talking about.  The kind of “jazz” you hear in elevators and restaurants.  Anyway, even if you’re not all that into the Dave Brubeck, at least give Slayer a whirl.  Little side note: Slayer’s “God Hates Us All,” came out on Sept. 11th, 2001.  Bit of foreshadowing? 1,001 Albums: Album 0022: Marty Robbins - Gunfighter Ballads And Trail Songs

Hmm… well, if you’re into western movies, you’ll probably dig this album.  I’m still kind of hesitant on western movies, although I loved Django Unchained.  I know, I know, that’s a “modern” western.  That’s partially why I liked it.  Very violent, very brash.  There’s also a TV series called Hatfield & McCoy that I watched with my friend Renee that I got pretty deep into.  And I played the fuck out of Red Dead Redemption, several years after its release.  See?
