*sigh* Well, it finally fuckin’ happened, perverts. Roe v. Wade was overturned last Friday morning, and boy, have I got some shit to say about it. First though, emo-fuckin’-clew to the Confrontation Edition of Monday Morning Aural Sex! The name is a reference to both the Otep song, and a specific lyric in it: “They don’t know what they’ve started.” These motherfuckers really have no idea. The Trump supporters who didn’t sign up for fucking theocracy, the 100M+ eligible voters who sat at home on their fucking asses in 2016 and 2020, the shameless partisan hacks installed to the SCOTUS, the feckless fucking dems who twiddled their goddamn thumbs instead of codifying Roe, the soulless corporate shills who represent themselves and their bank accounts above all else, and especially the troglodytic fucking Christian twits who actually wanted this to happen. Y’all really have no fucking idea what you started…
It’s difficult to predict what will come of this; there are just so many variables. One thing is for sure though: more suffering. People who were already suffering will suffer even more, and people who weren’t will suffer too, eventually. The red states that have trigger laws banning abortion if Roe got overturned, any and all women in those states are now condemned to either carry pregnancies to term regardless of the circumstance, or death. Yeah, some pregnancies, if carried to term, will kill the mother through no fault of her own. No sympathy for them, apparently. No sympathy for girls and women forced to carry rapists’ babies, no sympathy for the poor who can’t afford children (or more than they already have), this egregious miscarriage of justice will have broad effects beyond its intended targets.
Imagine a family with a kid or two who’s suddenly surprised with another pregnancy. Can’t afford it? Too bad. Don’t want it? Well, fuck you. Guess you should’ve used condoms. Well, those might be going away soon too. You know what, though? In spite of all the misery this is likely to cause, I hope it so drastically reduces the birth rate that these fucking imbeciles are dumbstruck as to what’s happening. Then again, maybe de-population is the goal. Who fucking knows with these blithering fucking morons? I do know that both parties of our pitiful duopoly will continue to gleefully fundraise off of this. Anything to keep people afraid and confused, especially of other people, and most of all if they’re working class. Gotta keep the peasants quarreling so they never realize they have more in common than not. What if they organize into even MORE unions and threaten our beloved capitalistic stranglehold on the country? That’d be terrible for business, and we all know that businesses need to grow in perpetuity, even at the expense of habitability on this fucking planet.
This edition is dedicated to all of those people. To Nancy Pelosi who read us a poem after feigning shock over the SCOTUS’s decision, despite just having campaigned for an anti-choice incumbent democrat in Texas. To all the fucking idiots singing God Bless America in response to this. To all the miserable, delusional sacks of elephant excrement who are celebrating this and/or mocking those who are rightfully upset about it. That includes Phil fucking Labonte of All That Remains, as much as it breaks my heart. This fucking turd tweeted “hoes gonna be mad,” in response to this. My fucking god, perverts, I absolutely loved All That Remains. I had profound respect for all of their obvious talent, not least of which being Phil’s astounding range as a vocalist. Now? Fuck him. You have a considerably large platform being a singer in a pretty successful metal band, and what do you choose to do with it? “Hoes gonna be mad…” Fuck you, you heartless prick. I hope I get to see how this decision fucks with your life, because I can almost guarantee that it will along with countless others who made similarly idiotic statements.
Anyway, this edition is about more than just Roe. This is everything from climate change, police brutality, political corruption, exacerbated inequity, despairing poverty, gun violence that nobody seems to be willing to do much of anything about, LGBTQIA+ rights, encroaching fucking fascism, religious zealotry, et-fucking-cetera. There is one shamelessly hopeful song, however. Alllll the way at the end, and it’s about unions. Unions are one of the only ways we’re going to get anything fucking done around here so long as we have corrupt little puppets gumming up the works in D.C., blissfully doing the bidding of their corporate overlords. Most of these tracks should be familiar to you if you’re a regular listener as most of them were pulled from past editions, but there’s a handful of new tracks as well. Apologies if it seems lazy or unoriginal, but this is pretty much all I’ve been able to think about this weekend. I’ve been infuriated, terrified and deeply depressed about all this, and I would feel disingenuous releasing a podcast about anything else.
What’s even worse though is that they’re most likely going to strip even more rights away from people in the coming months and/or years, unless some sort of downright miraculous level of protesting occurs. This is our new fucking reality so long as we collectively accept it. Solidarity has seldom or never been more absolutely crucial than in these darkest of times. We’re being disposed of en masse by a preposterously powerful minority, and I despise the indoctrination we’ve all endured - both implicit and explicit - regarding the hyper-individualistic nature of this so-called society by which capitalists thrive, and we barely survive, if we’re lucky. We, the working class, are mere playthings to the wealthy. The ruling class keep pissing on us, and millions of people are bamboozled into believing it’s just fucking raining. Those people live under the hopeless delusion that they’re temporarily inconvenienced millionaires… Man, I don’t envy at all the rude awakening before the vast majority of them.
Lastly, because I really must stop fuckin’ rambling at some point, I know a number of these tracks have violent lyrics, and I really just don’t care. Violence is being inflicted upon countless people every day in the forms of starvation, homelessness, drug addiction, and now, the outlawing of abortion in half the country. I don’t know about y’all, but I’m tired of all this needless fucking suffering. We only keep enduring this because there aren’t enough people willing to object, and dammit, the reptilian brains in everyone can so easily go to violence when adequately provoked. I’m not advocating for any violence in particular, of course, but I certainly wouldn’t be sad witnessing great misfortune in the lives of those who torture us daily with their greed and inaction. Also, I love how I wrapped this intro up, started cutting tracks, and then came back to write an additional two long-ass paragraphs. I’m fuckin’ unbearable, perverts. How does anyone bear me, hmm? Fuckin’ roar.
Any-fuckin’-way, all that said, put your fucking fists in the air, march with your brothers and sisters, support those most affected by this however you can, and of course, fucking yojne.
